The iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S release date could be as soon as the middle of next year with developers claiming to have seen evidence of the handset at Apple's HQ.
The Next Web reports that developers have come forward to them with evidence showing that the next iPhone has been used in the HQ running iOS 7, the next version of Apple's mobile operating system.
According to app usage logs a handset codenamed 'iPhone6.1' has been traced operating in the building running iOS 7. It's believed that this could be the first stage of compatibility testing to make sure the more popular apps will work with the iPhone 6 out of the box.
Developers believe these logs to be genuine as they can be traced back to a very unique IP address found only at the Apple's Cupertino headquarters suggesting that a new iPhone is indeed just around the corner.
With increased chatter surrounding the idea of an Apple TV becoming reality and the rumours that the company is working on a new iPad Mini with Retina Display this could be a big year for the tech giant.
Apple most recently hit the headlines when it launched the iPhone 5 along with iOS 6 and the ill-fated Apple Maps app resulting in a public apology from Apple CEO Tim Cook.
